In Climate Invasives we use the Atlantic blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) as a model organism for a “climate invasive”, i.e. an invasive species whose spread is favored by the ongoing climate change. We have now sampled the first crabs in the Mediterranean (Italy) for genetic analyzes and to develop protocols for eDNA sampling of blue crabs.
